Woven in late 20th century this rug from Daghestan is a vibrant rug in our tribal collection.

Tribal rugs are woven in small villages and are often intuitive. The design is from the weavers understanding and then follows her intuition and imagination to form the art. Colors also play a vital role and express the feeling of the artist and are extracted from the nature around her evoking certain emotions.

His name is driven from Aboriginal tong which is a very strong wood and is used for making traditional tools. This Daghestan carpet reminds us of and connects our being to the joyful moments of the land we are living in.
