ELENE
A hand-knotted pure wool rug from northeastern Persia is a perfect example of the region's renowned rug-making tradition. The rug features a raw, earthy colour palette with thirty unique Tekke geometric rosette (Gol) medallions, suggesting flowering slowly and speaking one's true self.
Elene, the Georgian name, is believed it was coined in Ancient Greece meaning light. This rug reminds us of bringing out the light that bring the dawn.
The rug measures 180 x 135 cm. It is made from pure soft sheep wool and has been dyed with vegetable dyes.
All photos are taken in natural, filtered light and only very modestly edit photos. Please be aware that colours may vary slightly depending on the device you are viewing it on.
