This is a beautiful hand-woven wool kilim from south Persia. The rug is made from sheep wool and features a diamond flower design. The kilim is 318 x 190 cm in size and is approximately woven 40-45 years before.
The kilim is in very good condition for its age. The main colours are red, blue and ivory.
The kilim is a great addition to an artistic home that can love its beauty. From a intuitive nomadic family to a modern new home. No patterns are used for weaving this kilim. The patterns are mental and has used a design that have been passed down from generation to generation, with minor changes within the framework of the existing customs.
Moreover, this rug was woven by a small group of women and teenage girls, showcasing their female talents and artistic skill to other families and the wider community of the Qashqai nomadic and settled tribes.
Its name is driven from Kurdish tradition, meaning "charms and spell". Afsun with her deep blue, pink red and overall diamond and flower motifs brings flow and honesty to one’s space. This is a rare collectible piece to own.
