This is a hand-woven pure wool Persian rug from Kashmar, Northeast Persia. It is a beautiful example of the intricate and colourful rugs that are made in this region. The rug features a central medallion with a bird of paradise surrounded by a variety of other birds, including larks, thrushes, jays, woodpeckers, and pheasants.
