Al-Noor
This intricate hand-knotted city Persian rug from central Persia, Qum, is a beautiful example of the region's renowned rug-making tradition. The rug features a translucent white chocolate background with a shimmering night blue, sky blue, sage green and camel vine motifs and border, set against an eight-folded octagon overall design. The sophisticated arabesque patterns in the garden give the carpet a strong presence that captures the moment.
The rug's name, Al-Noor, is derived from the root meaning the light and blessing.
The rug measures 330 x 220 cm (10'9" x 7'2") and was woven in the early 1930s. It is made of 100% pure wool pile and is in excellent condition.
