This is a hand-woven pure wool Caucasian kilim from North Persia, Azarbaijan.
Tribes of northwest Persia are simple people, close to the nature and they come in small groups. Their style of weave is more earthy, as if a conduit from the Mother Earth essence. With a strong culture steeped in community and music, they carry their way of life through weaving rugs and kilims.
