This is an intricate and fine hand-knotted pure wool Persian rug from central Persia, Arak.

The design of this rug is Turanj. The balanced colour palette of deep crimson red field and vanilla cream and sky blue with ornament boteh buds motifs and interlace of flower veins suggests opening to the central flower of creation. The shades of blue in the boarder and the vines brings forth the water element and nourishment.
