This is an intricate hand-knotted pure wool Persian rug from Northeast Persia, Turkmen.
The design of this rug is sarasar all over. The balanced colour palette of imperial red and night blue with ornament azeta diamond motifs and seven symbolic levels suggests subtleties in wealth and tender love at home.
This would be an ideal rug for a home of artefacts and treasures.
